CSPAN - 2008, Republican National Committee Platform Hearings

This CSPAN video clip features the drafting of the 2008 Republican Party Platform with a series of speakers from the Republican National Committee.  Republican Platform Committee member Kris Kobach (Kansas) speaks about illegal immigration and deportation of illegal immigrants.  He supports an amendment called Operation Community Shield which would prioritize criminal and gang member illegal immigrants in the deportation process.  The amendment would make the criminal serve his sentence, then upon completion of his/her sentence be immediately deported and handed over to the immigration/customs agency of their home country.
