Article: http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/12/04/coburn-gingrich-brilliant-lacking-leadership
Sen. Thomas Coburn described Newt Gingrich - 2012 Presidential Hopeful - as brilliant. Nice compliment, right? Well, the same Senator said Gingrich lacks the ability to be the leader of the United States - ouch. "There are a lot of candidates out there," Coburn told Fox News Sunday.
"I'm not inclined to be a supporter of Newt Gingrich's having served
under him for four years and experienced personally his leadership."
This is a powerful anti-Gingrich comment, especially for the fact that you would assume two politicians who worked together for four years would be great friends. Coburn and Gingrich spent their time together working on the "Republican Revolution" of 1994 which resulted in landslide victories for Republican Party midterm elections. Coburn explicitly believes that Gingrich lacks leadership abilities, stating he found Gingrich’s leadership to be "lacking oftentimes." Coburn would
not offer greater detail, saying only, "He did a wonderful job of
organizing (the revolution). He's brilliant. He has lots of positives,
but I still, I would have difficulty supporting him as president of the
United States."

Cain to Endorse Gingrich?
In a recent report, speculation has come forth that Presidential Possibility Herman Cain, following the suspension of his campaign, will back Newt Gingrich. Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain share more in common than just the same party, they are both fellow Georgians, representing the southern conservative ideology that has brought success to past conservative presidents, most recently Texan George Bush.
Unfortunately for Cain, story broke over the last weeks that he has had a mistress, and undeniably the has come forth and made public the allegations. Cain's campaign, which has recently seen success despite tremendous criticism over his 9-9-9 plan, has been put to a halt over no less than three allegations of extramarital affairs.
One might wonder just why Herman Cain decided to suspend his campaign, rather than withdraw altogether. Well, here is the issue: Herman Cain's campaign is having some serious money problems - more serious than the US debt. His campaign cannot accept any further donations once he has withdrawn, so a suspended campaign is still a vehicle for money.
Recent Cain issues goes against everything we are told about media - "all press is good press." Ironically, press is only good press when you are not the frontrunner and when you are a domesticated, loyal politician, like Mitt Romney. But quite surprisingly, regardless of Mitt's track record of loyalty and trust, Americans fail to rally behind him as their next president. Could it be that religion plays such an important role in American politics? I think more importantly than religion, is Mitt Romney's liberal tendencies. His past, which certainly has not been forgotten, is biting him in the behind every day. Although he has very potent rebuttals for the criticism against him, facts are facts.
But Gingrich does not anticipate a Cain endorsement, and neither does the Cain campaign. I think the real issue, besides bringing the GOP together behind a candidate, is picking the right VP to draw the ever-so-important voters out on election day. As good as he's been, Mitt Romney only goes as far as a good VP, and does not have to capacity to be a president. With this in mind, I also consider Herman Cain as a VP. After all, he has the credentials, certainly the notoriety, and with a couple months for this whole eatramaritial thing to blow over he will surely make a good

CSPAN - Obama V. Mccain Ads
This clip shows 2 ad campaigns, one from the McCain and one from Obama. The McCain ad takes a position on how bad the last 8 years have been, blaming Washington and taxes. McCain strikes fear in your heart by warning you that your job is at risk, and all your money is going to the middle east. He promises lower taxes and less spending, thus restoring our country.
Obama's campaign ad shows the similarity between Bush and McCain, with statistics showing McCain voted with Bush more than 90% of the time. McCain should check the approval ratings before voting.

CSPAN - Campaign Advertising Strategies
Amy Gershkoff speaks about her Washington DC firm, which consults with Democratic campaigns. She begins her discussion by crediting media with the ease of mass awareness, and compares it to the inefficiencies of door-to-door campaigning which once took place. Although at one point in time candidates did not want to be 'sold like a box of soap,' success through media advertising quickly changed their minds. The clips ends with a short JFK presidential ad, which has a unique tune playing in the background, which I'm assuming was unique to the JFK presidential campaign.

CSPAN - History of US Political Campaign Advertising
In this CSPAN clip, Robert Mann speaks about the presidential campaign of Lyndon B Johnson. Mann begins by shedding light on how complicated contemporary advertising has become, and how it is more difficult for campaigns to gain momentum. In 1964, the first candidate introduced emotion, more particularly fear, into his campaigns and was successful in his efforts to gain public support through fear. Scared people are loyal.

All Aboard the Gingrich Express
As poll numbers rise, presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich prepares for battle. His momentary rise into the front-runner position will not let him get by easily in the next debate.
Newt Gingrich has brilliantly employed mechanisms to fight off the banter, such as a website that answers the attacks - http://www.newt.org/answers
Article: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/11/20/gingrich-tries-to-preempt-attacks-as-poll-numbers-rise/
If you check out the newt.org site, you are presented with a menu of different topics on which he defends his position, and debunks the myths. The menu is delicately catered to the Gingrich pallet, with sections like "Gingrich is opposed to any political party imposing dramatic change against the consent of the governed. Afterwards, Newt quickly admitted that his choice of words was too extreme, and he apologized to Congressman Ryan shortly thereafter."

This is even better than a coverup. It's similar to the superhero who stages the crime, because at first we are surprised by Gingrich's actions, then we are slowly transformed into supporting his actions, and then the icing on the cake makes you believe he was right. You can't read a section without praising Newt. Check this part out:
In response to the host’s hypothetical question of whether Republicans should change Medicare even if there is public opposition, Gingrich’s response was no you should not. One of Newt’s basic governing philosophies is that government should offer a better alternative to existing entitlement programs that seniors can freely choose. Gingrich is opposed to any political party imposing dramatic change against the consent of the governed. Afterwards, Newt quickly admitted that his choice of words was too extreme, and he apologized to Congressman Ryan shortly thereafter. Newt regards Paul Ryan as one of the biggest innovators in Washington, D.C. and he deeply admires the seriousness and boldness of his historic Path to Prosperity budget.

Newt opposes Governor Romney’s health insurance mandate, and Newt opposes President Obama’s health insurance mandate. Newt believes mandates to buy health insurance are wrong on principle, and in the case of the Obamacare health insurance mandate, unconstitutional as well.Gingrich's team uses colorful language such as "mandate" for laws and "consent of the governed" for permission.
